This mulled apple cider recipe is made with five-spice powder, instead of classic pumpkin pie spices. It’s delicious and the warm aroma will fill your house with scent of fall as you are making it. For added ambience at your next gathering, have a batch quietly simmering in the background – your guests will love it!
5 Spice Mulled Apple Cider
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 3 hours – 7 hours
½ gallon fresh apple cider
1 medium organic orange, sliced
½ c. fresh orange juice
3 whole cinnamon sticks
10-15 whole cloves
2 t. ground cinnamon
2 t. five-spice powder
Fresh orange slices
Whole cinnamon sticks
- Add all ingredients to a slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours. When finished, remove and discard cinnamon sticks and cooked orange slices.
- Ladle the warm cider into large mugs. If desired, serve with additional orange slices and fresh cinnamon sticks.
